About HeyTheo
What HeyTheo is
HeyTheo is an AI co-pilot for everyday investors. It watches the US-listed stocks you own and the ones you're considering, explains what's happening in plain English, and tells you when one needs your attention. Theo does the watching; you act in your own brokerage account.
Why we built it
Most retail tools do one of two things. They dump charts and indicators and leave you to work it out, or they hand you a score with no way to see how it was reached. Both ask you to trust something you can't check.
HeyTheo is built on the opposite idea. Every setup shows the exact rule that triggered it, and every strategy can be tested against history before you rely on it. You're never asked to take a number on faith.
How HeyTheo started
HeyTheo began as something Manoj Agarwala built for himself.
He was running his own portfolio around a full working day, and kept hitting the same two failures. He'd miss an entry on a stock he had been watching for weeks, because he wasn't looking at the right moment. And he'd hold a position that had turned against him for far longer than he'd ever planned to, because nothing told him it was time to pay attention. Neither was a knowledge problem. Both were attention problems.
The tools he tried didn't fix that. They either buried the answer under charts he had no time to read, or handed him a verdict with no way to check how it had been reached. So he built the thing he actually wanted — something that did the watching for him and showed its reasoning — and then decided to share it.
What HeyTheo does
Research. Ask Theo about any US-listed stock, sector, or market event. It reads filings, news, and the technicals, and answers in plain English with the sources attached.
Setups you can see through. Rule-based entry and protection setups where the trigger is always visible. There is no hidden score.
Backtesting. Test any strategy against years of history and a benchmark before you rely on it, so you're judging a method rather than a claim.
Protection. Own a stock and Theo tracks a protection level beneath it that rises as the stock climbs and never falls. When it moves, you're told — you never have to go and check.
How we think about advice
HeyTheo is a research and education tool. It is not a financial adviser and not a broker. It shows you the rules, the data, and the reasoning — the bull case, the bear case, and the risk — and never tells you what to buy or sell. Every decision and every trade is yours, made in your own account. Our Disclosures page has the full detail.
Our standards
Our setups are rule-based and transparent. Stock data comes from NASDAQ and SEC filings, is provided through third parties, and may be delayed — every figure you might act on carries the time it was last updated. Backtests are labelled as hypothetical wherever they appear. Where Theo references third-party views such as Wall Street ratings, they are attributed as those third parties' opinions and are never presented as HeyTheo's recommendation. AI-generated analysis may be incomplete or inaccurate, and we say so on the page rather than in the small print.
