Good to know
What actually changes when I move from Basic to Pro?
Two things. You start building your own — strategies, baskets and idea generators, which Basic does not have at all. And the market gets finer: fifteen-minute intervals instead of daily, three years of history instead of one, and far more room on backtests and questions to Theo.
Pro or Pro Max — how do I tell which one I need?
By how often you trade. Pro suits swing trading and longer holds: fifteen-minute data is fine when positions run for days or weeks. Pro Max is for daily traders — five-minute intervals, five years of history, and double the backtests. If you are not sure, start on Pro. Moving up on the same billing period takes effect immediately and you pay only the difference for the days left in it.
Ultra is 90% off — why would I not just take that?
Because year two is $899.99. The discount covers your first year only, so the question worth asking is whether you would pay that in twelve months. Ultra earns it if you need one-minute intervals, the full ten-year history, and a strategy built to your spec each month. If none of those three is a real need, start on Pro — you can move up whenever you outgrow it.
One thing to weigh before you do: the launch price is for a new yearly Ultra subscription, not an upgrade. Start on Pro and move to Ultra later and the first year is charged at the standard yearly rate, because the launch price is only for a new subscription. If Ultra is what you want, taking it now is the cheaper route by a wide margin; if it is not, Pro is the right answer and the difference is one you were never going to spend.
What does Ultra cost after the offer ends?
$899.99 a year — the standard yearly price, which is half the $1,799.88 list. So the discount you keep permanently is the same 50% every plan gets on yearly billing; the launch offer takes the first year down the rest of the way. Nothing is added at renewal and nothing changes about your plan. We email you fourteen days before the charge, and you can cancel or move down before it lands.
Is Basic actually free, or is it a trial?
Free, and no card is ever asked for. No expiry and no countdown — counters reset on the 1st and it carries on indefinitely. That is separate from the two-week trial of Pro and Pro Max, which does take a card.
Why does the trial need a card?
Because Basic already exists. If you just want to look around, do it on Basic — free, no card, for as long as you like. The trial is for people who have decided they want the paid features and want to be sure before committing to a year. We email you three days before it ends with the exact date and amount, and cancelling takes two clicks in settings. Cancel before day fourteen and you are not charged at all.
How do I get Ultra at 90% off?
There is nothing to do. Choose yearly Ultra any time before 30 November 2026 and checkout opens at the price the card shows. No code to find, no box to tick.
The 90% is off $1,799.88 — what Ultra costs at its monthly rate across twelve months. Every plan on this page halves that by paying yearly; Ultra’s launch offer takes the first year down the rest of the way.
It is the yearly plan only, and only on a new subscription. You hold that price for a full year from the day you join, then renew at the standard yearly rate — we email you fourteen days before.
Ultra has no trial because two weeks cannot show what it is for. Ten years of history, minute intervals and a monthly strategy build prove themselves over months. Pro and Pro Max are the plans to trial.
Is yearly billing an offer too?
No — that one has no clock on it. Yearly simply costs half of paying monthly, on every plan, permanently. The Ultra launch price is the only thing on this page that expires.
What does point-in-time history mean?
It means the data is what was actually knowable on the day — not figures restated afterwards. Most backtesting quietly runs on restated numbers, which flatters every result. Ours runs point-in-time from 2019 onward, which is why a HeyTheo backtest sometimes looks worse than the same idea tested elsewhere. That is the point.
What is a strategy built to your spec?
You send us the rules you want tested — the conditions, the thresholds, the universe of tickers — and our team encodes them into a runnable strategy on your account, once a month on Ultra. We build what you specify. We do not design it for you, and we will not ask about your goals, your capital or your risk tolerance.
To ask for one, email support@heytheo.io from the address on your account with the rules you want. There is no form to fill in, and nothing to claim in the app.
What happens when I hit a limit?
Nothing is deleted and nothing breaks. That one counter pauses until it resets, or until you upgrade, which lifts it straight away. Backtests on Basic also run at restricted priority — they complete, but paid plans go ahead of them when the queue is busy.
Can I change plan later, and what does it cost?
Yes, any time. A plan is changed where it was bought — the App Store, Google Play, or your HeyTheo account settings on the web — and that store settles what is owed for the days you have already paid for.
Moving up — happens immediately, and the days you had already paid for count towards the new plan.
Moving down — takes effect when the period you have paid for ends. Nothing is refunded: you keep the plan you bought until it runs out, then the new one starts.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep full paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for. From the next period your account moves to Basic and runs on Basic limits. Nothing is deleted — your strategies, baskets and saved screens stay exactly as they are, and remain visible even if you are over a Basic limit. You just cannot add more until you are back under it.
When do crypto and F&O arrive?
They are in development for Pro and above, and they will arrive at no extra cost on the plan you are already on. Today the platform covers US-listed stocks and ETFs. We are not putting a date on it — a plan you are paying for should not depend on one we have not committed to.
Does HeyTheo tell me what to buy?
No — and it is not built to. HeyTheo is an educational and research platform, not a broker or an adviser. Every ticker shows a bull case, a bear case and what to watch. Theo will talk through any of it. The decision is yours.
Still have a question? Email support@heytheo.io and we will get back to you.
